Community Transformation The History of Eirene
The mercy ministry of Eirene started when some children from Santa Ana Tepetitlán started asking Larry Trotter, a missionary pastor for gifts.
He invited them to study the Bible, to minister to their spiritual needs.
He also helped minister to their physical needs by inviting them to eat with him.
Eventually, the number of children grew and a Kids’ Club became a weekly event.
In the summer of 1997, Alejandro Martínez was recruited from México City to begin missionary work with "Eirene" in Guadalajara.

He started leading the Kids’ Club in singing and teaching. Many children attended regularly and Alejandro’s vision for outreach and serving those in need in the community grew.
Community Transformation
In February 1998, a building was bought in Santa Ana and Eirene was founded as an “Asociación Civil” — the equivalent of a non-profit organization with government registration. Eirene received its name from the Greek word for “peace”, to bring God's peace and love, changed lives and transformation to the communities of Guadalajara.
Eirene's first building in Santa Ana Tepetitlán The building’s first use was continuing the Kids’ Club meetings. Then in the summer of 1998, the first summer work teams transformed the rather primitive structure into a dental clinic, with offices above.
In 1999, the clinic began to offer services with a homeopathic doctor. In 2002, a kindergarten was started for those children ages 3-5 by Kristin Olson.
New facility and expansion
In 2003, a 1200m 2 property was bought with an existing structure on it to provide for expansion for the school, new office space, and new offices for the dental and homeopathic ministries. During the summer of 2006, the new dental and homeopathic offices were finished and moved to this site.

Beginning in 2007, the old existing building has been demolished and rebuilt, room by room. Through the efforts of many nationals and teams from the United States, this labor was completed by the end of the summer of 2009. We now have three new classrooms, a new kitchen and dining room, office space, and new bathroom facilities in order to provide a clean, safe and model environment for the children we minister to and their families.

Each summer, various teams have come from the United States and have helped in remodelling or construction on Eirene’s properties and homes in Santa Ana. They have also ministered through medical clinics in Santa Ana and in villages surrounding Guadalajara. Many lives have been impacted.
